NSF Controls was approached by an automated candyfloss machine repair company, who had identified that a solenoid was required to hold the candyfloss stick in place, whilst the product was being dispensed.
Due to the abrasive nature of sugar, especially when combined with moving parts, the previous bearings and the mechanisms had been completely corroded.
NSF Controls selected a tubular solenoid based upon the solenoids enclosed design which was then customised with a cover on the rear to prevent ingress of sugar, protecting the solenoid.
We also designed a shot bolt for security which prevents unauthorised access whilst the machine is in operation. The shot bolt releases when the machinery operation has finished to allow the customers access to the end product.
